Philosophy as a Living Practice
The School of Calm Thought is an ongoing online philosophical and educational initiative founded and led by Dr Ioannis S. Christodoulou.
The School approaches philosophy not merely as an academic subject, but as a living practice of reflection, critical thought, attentive reading and self-knowledge.
Online Learning and Dialogue
Through live online meetings, lectures and discussions, participants encounter philosophy, literature, history, education, theatre, poetry, politics and the arts. Each subject becomes an opportunity to examine human experience more carefully and to develop an independent and thoughtful relationship with the world.
A Reflective Method
The School does not simply collect information. It cultivates concentration, dialogue, intellectual openness and the ability to question familiar assumptions.
Healing Reading
Its work also includes the practice of Healing Reading: the attentive reading of philosophical and literary texts as a means of reflection, inner calm and meaningful contact with language. This is presented as a cultural and educational practice, not as medical treatment.
The School and EPHILO
The School of Calm Thought is associated with Ephilo International Publishing. Through this relationship, lectures, reflections, literary works and philosophical studies can be developed into carefully edited digital, printed and multilingual editions.
